Excerpts are photographic series stemming from primarily unplanned, isolated, and finite encounters. They are taken over a period of time as short as a few hours and not longer than a few days.
Attention, receptivity, and chance are an integral part of my photographic process—and the Excerpts are the simplest forms of my practice. In some cases, I considered delving in, expanding on the initial experiences because they represented a concept or an issue that resonated or concerned me. In the end, at least as of now, they stand alone as slivers of my perspective from very intense experiences and bonds.
Excerpts not only from the subjects’ lives, but mine.
